Boeing

Boeing is a US multinational aerospace and defence group, which was founded in 1916 by William Boeing. The company merged with McDonnell Douglas in 1997, and its business units include Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA); Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS); Engineering, Operations & Technology; Boeing Capital; and Boeing Shared Services Group.

Fliers greet balloonists

The passengers of a jumbo jet heading for Hong Kong yesterday waved to two British balloonists making a round-the-world flight.

The pilot of the Boeing 747 radioed Andy Elson, 45, and Colin Prescott, 48, off Taiwan for permission to fly close for passengers to have a 'unique picture opportunity'. Their control centre did not name the airline.
