How the West was worn

Architect and interior designer Jason Schlabach used to shun the working boots he had to wear growing up in a farm in Ohio, but now that he's based in Hong Kong, he'd go to great lengths to get his hands on a pair.

On style, she rules

I'm starting to get grey hair and it's awful. I want to cover it without having to expose my entire head to chemicals and I really don't want it to be noticed by anyone or to look different, if you know what I mean. I heard about something called Touch Back but it doesn't seem to be sold in Hong Kong and I don't want to order online. Are there alternatives?

Where I come from, shoes are a national obsession - Imelda Marcos made that clear with her extensive collection. Growing up, I remember my mother hiding her shoe purchases from my father. She wasn't fooling anyone, though.

Favourite fashion designers?

Most of my clothes are made for me. When you live in a city of tailors you'd have to be dumb as a box of rocks not to use them. But Ozwald Boateng and Thierry Mugler cut a mean jacket.
