Votes sought for best-liked faces

The public are invited to vote for their three favourite Hong Kong faces via www.facesofhongkong.com until July 18. The 60 faces are of people who contributed to the photo mosaic project the Faces of Hong Kong. The campaign, launched at the end of March, kicked off the revitalised Brand Hong Kong.

Hundreds enter design contest for waterfront

More than 200 architects and planners from around the world have registered to take part in a HK$1 million design competition for the Central waterfront.

The competition, set up by concern group Designing Hong Kong, aims to provide world-class alternatives to the government's Central Reclamation Urban Design Study, announced in May to improve the plans for the waterfront site.

The budget to promote Hong Kong overseas will exceed $100 million in the new financial year, according to the Government.

The spending has been challenged by a lawmaker in view of the $65.6 billion budget deficit.
