Skip the buffet

If you can figure out the maze that is Harbour City, you're in luck. Despite hiding the à la carte menu under the lure of a buffet, take the to-order option. The steak tartare (HK$208) is one of the city's finest, while the chicken liver parfait (HK$188) with raspberries worked well. The buffalo mozzarella with vine tomatoes (HK$198) transported me to summers backpacking in Italy.

Cafe Serena at the Hotel Nikko in Tsim Sha Tsui is featuring Japanese dishes on its dinner buffet. The selection includes snow crab legs and seafood hotpot, grilled scallops with Japanese soy sauce, steamed egg custard with foie gras, braised pomfret with leeks and soy sauce, bamboo charcoal red bean rolls, and green tea macarons.

Neat eating will stop wastage

When people are eating in restaurants, they often accidentally drop food onto the table.

I think lots of people have the same dilemma I do: eat it or throw it away? It might seem dirty to eat it but it is wasteful to throw it away.

When a towering ambition comes full circle

Peter Klimenko first visited Revolving 66 - the restaurant atop the Hopewell Centre - in 1989, the year he arrived in Hong Kong. 'It was the talk of the town. The Hopewell was the tallest building around at the time,' he says.

High rents push fine-dining restaurant CineCitta to close in Star Street, but it will re-open in Kowloon

Star Street said goodbye to one of its oldest fine-dining restaurants on Thursday evening, as CineCitta opened its doors for the last time in the neighbourhood for a farewell cocktail party.

Guests raised their grappa glasses to toast the restaurant's 11-year run in Wan Chai and its smooth relocation to its new home in the Cosmo Hotel, Mong Kok.
