Drivers protest at bumper ban

Drivers of about 100 Land Rovers staged a slow-drive protest from Sha Tin to Central yesterday over a proposed ban of external front bumpers for the vehicles. They then marched to Government headquarters where they handed in a petition claiming the Transport Department had failed to produce sufficient data to justify the ban, which will come into effect in June.

Door floors Bumper Storm, breaks jaw

Quality galloper Bumper Storm has broken his jaw in an accident and will be out of action for at least eight weeks.

But trainer Patrick Biancone was thankful yesterday, saying it could have been a lot worse.

'He was on the walking machine, actually right in front of me. He bit at a partition of a door and it came back and smashed him in the jaw,' he said.
