Australian consul thanks city for response to deadly bush fires

On a sombre note, after more than 200 people were killed in southern Australia in horrific bush fires that left thousands of homes destroyed and 450,000 hectares in the state of Victoria burned, there was a positive tone yesterday as Consul General Les Luck (pictured left) thanked the people of Hong Kong for their kind contributions.

They might say 'no worries' a lot, but when it comes to the recent deadly bush fires back home, the Australian community in Hong Kong has been quick to rally help for their mates devastated by the tragedy. But now those with limited time don't actually have to go to a rain forest to experience it. And they don't need to seek out a museum to learn a little of Australia's history.
