Adulthood brings great responsibility

Eighteen is a meaningful number for many people, because it is the age when we enter a new stage of our lives. When we are young, we always want to be an adult, but once we are 18 years old we really have to grow up.

Work out a study plan to cope with exam stress

I think Hong Kong students face too much pressure.

There is a lot of homework and assessments. The heavy workload puts us under stress and takes the joy out of learning.

Schools should create a positive learning environment and reduce the pressure faced by students.

What was the last good book you read?

Daniel Muntz, 18

Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck. It's filled with dreams and lessons about human existence, which not only can be directly applied to my life, but that of everyone else. It's a short read that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Long voluminous wavy hair, which is sexy, wild, feminine and modern, is the new look for autumn and winter, says Calvin Chan, one of Hong Kong's top stylists.

Saving face at cost of friendship

A few days ago, I was waiting at the bus stop after school.

While I was waiting, a boy wearing the uniform of another school came up to me and said: 'Hi.' I was confused, as I did not recognise him.

I wanted to ask him if I knew him, but I hesitated as I was not sure whether he was talking to me.

Flirting with danger

A PUBESCENT young girl peers doe-eyed at the lens. A man calls out from behind the camera for her to turn round and show her backside, and then asks what jeans she's wearing. 'Calvin Klein,' the girl coquettishly replies, though the male voice never really sounded like his interest lay in the fashion world.

Premiere Hurley-burley

APPARENTLY, Hugh Grant still has anxiety-inducing flashbacks that feature two metres of silk and a dozen gold safety pins. And that's even though it's been more than a year since his voluptuous main squeeze Elizabeth Hurley stole the show at the Four Weddings And A Funeral premiere in the steamy Versace entity that is now known ubiquitously as That Dress.

What's the drill for fans trying to survive the strike?

HEAR that? That is the ungodly sound of silence in midsummer; the sound of a bat not hitting a ball, the sound of empty stadiums across baseball's heartland, with their cries of ''hotdogs, peaaaaanuts, ice creammmm'' just a ghostly echo, and the sound of breaking some greatest hits records perhaps forever silenced by the labour of greed.
