There's more to life than school

How to be a happy camper

Spring Scream runs from March 31 to April 9, with the main events on the two weekends. The first weekend will have three stages, and the second - 'the big weekend' - will have five, with things slowing down to one or two stages mid-week.

There'll be hip-hop acts and electronica DJs in a dance-tent bamboo hut in the middle of the compound that will go late into the night.

Put yourself to the test

The Survivor genre is showing no signs of weakening. Organised by The Boys' and Girls' Clubs Association (BGCA) of Hong Kong, Team Challenge 2003 will be held in Sai Kung on July 26 and 27.

It is an adventure competition involving swimming, canoeing, climbing, orienteering and camping. A total of 30 teams will be taking part in the event.

Summer full of challenge

Former Shao Lin Monastery students will take part in Water Margin, a fund-raising production organised by the Boys' and Girls' Clubs Association and the Hong Kong Dance Company.

The show will be staged on July 26 and is one of several self-development programmes held by the association as part of its 'Together We Serve - Youth Challenge Project'.

Trailwalkers queue here

KEEN hikers camped out overnight to grab all the places in Trailwalker 98 when entries opened yesterday. About 600 people collected forms for the 510 public team places available for the 100km walk on November 13 to 15. The rest of the 760 places are reserved for teams which raised more than $20,000 last year, and for sponsors' teams.

Come camping in the country

YOUNG people between the ages of 14 and 25 who wish to camp in a beautiful outdoor environment this summer and take part in countryside conservation work can now apply to join the 1995 forestry work camp.

Applications are invited from youth groups and schools for this year's work camp to be held from July 3 to August 25.

Youths have four days of camp fun

A RECENT four-day summer camp held at the Lady MacLehose Holidays Village in Sai Kung, enabled some 150 children to be more independent, self-confident and sociable.
