Former DAB vice-chairman Greg So Kam-leung, who was recently made a deputy minister, is expected to give up his Canadian passport soon amid mounting controversy over his foreign nationality.

Deputy ministers face mounting pressure over foreign passports

Pressure is growing on deputy ministers to give up their foreign passports after claims that two more have foreign nationality.

But the government insists there are no nationality restrictions under the Basic Law, except those on principal officials.

Talks held on visa-free access for Russians

Informal talks have been launched between Hong Kong and Russia over visa-free access amid an increasing number of visitors from the country in recent years.

'The issue of a visa-free arrangement had been raised ... it has been going on for quite some time,' said Dmitry Prosvirkin, spokesman for the Russian consulate.

Pride, not dollars

AS A Canadian citizen living in Hongkong, I am compelled to comment on a cartoon (Sunday Money, May 2) which grouped a Canadian passport with such items as a shopping bag from Joyce, golf clubs, and the keys to a BMW and a flat in Deepwater Bay.
