The government ordered the recall of a Chinese medicine that uses capsules made on the mainland, after the capsules were found to be tainted by a cancer-causing heavy metal.

Bad design led to theme park deaths

Six people died at a Shenzhen amusement park in June because of a bad design that led to a broken bolt, the official investigation has found.

The tragedy happened on the Space Journey ride, similar to a carousel but spinning nearly four times as fast to give riders, strapped in pairs in 12 capsules, the g-force sensation of a rocket's take-off.

Foiled again

Wine capsules or foils are protective shields placed over the neck and cork of a bottle. Like the latex prophylactic sheaths sold in chemists, wine capsules protect against unplanned reproduction and disease transmission. Wine sheaths prevent bacterial conception and deter weevils, rodents and other nippers from gnawing at the cork.
