Developers raise prices on car parking spaces

Developers are beginning to raise their prices not just for new flats but car parking spaces as well, as buying interest returns to a property market spared further cooling measures in the chief executive's policy address.

Sino Land to release 32 flats

A 6,061 square feet three-storey town-house in Stanley has sold for $125 million or $20,623 per sq ft, First Pacific Davies said.

The low-rise development at 39A Tung Tau Wan Road also comes with several car parking spaces.

Parking space deal

AWT World Transport is diversifying into property with the purchase of 60 car parking spaces at Whampoa Garden from China Strategic Holdings in a deal worth $47 million.

Under the deal, AWT will issue to China Strategic an unsecured convertible note due in 1998 of which $40 million is convertible into AWT shares at an initial conversion price of 80 cents a share.

Connaught Road units go for $723m

A MYSTERIOUS buyer has paid $723 million for floors in the 118 Connaught Road West property.

The purchase included the top six office floors (with a total floor area of 79,000 square feet), 18 car parking spaces, four rooftop signs and the naming right to the building.
