Pens are mightier than the sword in Red Cliff promotion

A happy meal it's not, but John Woo's new Chinese epic Red Cliff has found itself an interesting promotional tie-in. The moviemakers have collaborated with Swiss fancy pen maker Caran D'Ache for a limited-edition Red Cliff pen.

Written in diamonds

Swiss pen-maker Caran d'Ache hosted a dinner and viewing of its diamond-studded writing instruments and accessories at the Conrad's Italian restaurant Nicholini's last month.

Among the items on show was a HK$3.8 million pen encrusted with more than 5,000 diamonds and rubies from the brand's La Modernista Diamond Collection.

ADVERTISING agency Publicitas, which has been relaunched, is seeking wider exposure in the Hong Kong market.

Despite the relaunch, the agency retained its core business in marketing luxury products such as Omega, Tissot, Pierre Balmain and Chaumet watches, and Caran d'Ache pens and art materials.
