Law firm advises Carnival

Sinclair Roche & Timperley, the international law firm, said it advised Carnival Corp on its recent US$900 million order for Destiny class cruise ships from Italy's Fincantieri shipbuilder. The vessels are expected to be in service by 2003.

Carnival orders third Destiny

Carnival Corp says it has agreed with the Italian shipyard Fincantieri Cantieri Navali Italiani on the construction of a cruise ship to cost about US$430 million for its Carnival Cruise Lines unit.

Cruise vessels pass tough USCG verification tests

TWO Lloyd's Register-classified cruise ships, the Sensation and the Maasdam, successfully have undergone the United States Coast Guard's (USCG) stringent verification examination covering all structural, machinery and safety equipment.

The examinations were carried out at the builders' yards in Finland and Italy before the ships sailed for the US.
