Carnival came a-calling at The Venetian Macau, with Mardi-Gras-style glitz and glamour

The annual Venetian Carnival began last Friday at The Venetian Macau. This year's theme was New Orleans Mardi Gras and the three-day event opened with a traditional Mardi Gras parade, complete with blaring trumpets and scantily clad dancers in glitter and feathers.

Revellers set shining examples

Revellers and fun-seekers packed into Victoria Park last night for the lantern carnival to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, the most important festival and occasion for family reunions after the Lunar New Year.

The moon, which was for most of the time veiled by thin cloud, faced competition from hundreds of beautifully crafted lanterns that brightened up the park.

Gala-goers give it up for change

The Changing Young Lives Foundation threw its annual fund-raising dinner party at the Armani Bar last month.

The Festival of Trees 2009 was chaired by Jim and Sally Thompson, with all the money raised at the gala donated to the foundation's projects to help underprivileged children in Hong Kong and on the mainland.
