HK$1.9m stolen from jailed horse trainer Brian Kan’s home

More than HK$1.9 million in luxury watches, rings and cash has been stolen from the Sheung Shui home of five-time champion horse trainer Brian Kan Ping-chee, who is currently serving a jail sentence.

Police were called to his home in Castle Peak Road at about 10pm on Monday, after a family member returned home and discovered the break-in.

Teenagers find body of newborn boy

The body of a newborn boy was found inside a leather bag under a tree by teenagers in Nam San Wai Road, Yuen Long, at about 1pm yesterday. Police believe the baby was born about a week ago and had been dead for 12 hours. An autopsy will be conducted.

Drug-driving suspect in pre-dawn car chase

A man suspected of driving under the influence of an illegal drug was arrested after a 20-kilometre high-speed car chase that ended in a cul-de-sac before dawn yesterday, where a pursuing police car rammed a parked car and the suspect pulled out a knife, police said.

New-born baby thrown from flat

A newborn baby thrown out of a flat in a Ma On Shan residential building was found on a clothes drying rack fixed outside a flat on the eighth floor at about 8pm yesterday. The baby was confirmed dead after recovery by firemen. Police were canvassing Block G of Sunshine City in On Luk Street early today to find out where the baby was thrown from.

Woman who left baby on hill to face court

A 24-year-old woman who was arrested on suspicion of abandoning her newborn son will appear in Tuen Mun Court today on a charge of exposing a child to conditions that could endanger his life. Police detained the woman in Ngau Tau Kok on Wednesday. The infant was found on a slope off Castle Peak Road on Tuesday night.
