Priests urged to seek help with celibacy vows

Most priests serve with generosity and devotion

I refer to the article by Moira Shaw headlined 'A Catholic bares her pain at sex scandal' (Sunday Morning Post, May 5).

As a Catholic, I too am pained by the sex abuse cases that have recently surfaced in the Church in both Hong Kong and the US. But what also exasperates me is that some are using the current crisis to attack the Church's moral teachings.

Celibacy a sacred duty of the Catholic priest

I refer to your article 'Confessions from within the Vatican' (South China Morning Post, July 22). It creates such a caricature of the Catholic Church, I cannot believe anyone would take it seriously.

The church teaches there should be no sex outside marriage.
