Couple sentenced over fake notes

A couple was sentenced to 18 months in jail yesterday in Eastern Court over the use of fake HK$1,000 banknotes. Liu Tak-po, 33, and his Vietnamese wife Nguyen Thi-hanh, 34, were convicted of conspiring to pass 10 fake banknotes in March. The woman was given a suspended sentence to allow her to take care of their son.
