Former senior civil servant Eddy Chan Yuk-tak has resigned as head of the Asian Games bid team, a week before the bid goes to Legco's Finance Committee for funding.

Hi-tech links prevail

Technological co-operation between Guangdong and Hong Kong is becoming the prevailing trend, the new commissioner for innovation and technology said yesterday.

Eddy Chan Yuk-tak, who took up the position in November, said eight projects totalling HK$60 million had been approved last year in a new joint funding scheme supported by both governments.

Watchdog move 'won't gag media'

The television watchdog has dismissed claims that the proposal requiring television and radio hosts to declare commercial interests would restrict freedom of speech.

The proposal was made because the public was concerned about integrity, Commissioner for Television and Entertainment Licensing Eddie Chan Yuk-tak said.
