Accountants raise HK$1.1 million in annual rickshaw race

Rickshaws replaced cars on busy Chater Road yesterday as many of the city's accountants descended on Central for a day of fun, and fundraising.

Student authors unite for charity

Never underestimate the impact individuals can have if they are united. Last month, 17 students aged between six and 13 worked with their parents and teacher Judy Butler to publish a book, Animal Myths. The book will help raise funds for the charity Room to Read, which builds schools and libraries, and funds local language books in countries that need educational support.

Railway protester in court for tearing off police officer's epaulette

An activist accused of tearing off a police officer's epaulette in a protest last year appeared in court yesterday accused of criminal damage.

Yang Kuang, 43, a programme host on Green Radio, an internet radio station, pleaded not guilty at Eastern Court.
