Doctors call for cheerleading to be designated a sport

Cheerleading isn't just jumping and waving pompoms - it has become as athletic and potentially as dangerous as a sport and should be designated one to improve safety, a leading group of paediatricians in the United States says.

Cheerleaders flip for title of HK champions

Give us a 'brrr'! Cheerleaders braved the chilly morning air yesterday to take part in Hong Kong's first Open Cheerleading Championships.

The competition, organised by the Cheerleading Federation of Hong Kong China, was held at Ocean Park. Twelve teams from kindergartens, primary and secondary schools, as well as sports organisations, took part.

Passion is power behind basketball cheerleader's winning routine

How did you become a cheerleader?

Topsun Basketball held a cheerleader's contest last September. I was one of the 300 women who signed up for the month-long selection. Luckily, I made it to the top 20 and then was picked for Topsun's cheerleading team.
