Prominent businessman dies of cancer

Local businessman and husband of former actress Cherie Chung Chor-hung, Michael Chu Ka-ting, has died at the age of 53.

Chu died of cancer at the Hong Kong Sanatorium and Hospital a few days ago, hospital sources said.

Cherie Chu - better known as retired movie star Cherie Chung Chor-hung - has discovered her fame has a price and it may be too rich for the Environmental Protection Department.

Mrs Chu, 34, has a long-standing interest in the environment and wanted to become an accredited smoky-vehicle spotter.
