Chi Mei in $2.32b filter project

Taiwan's unlisted Chi Mei Industrial Co yesterday said it planned to invest NT$10 billion (about HK$2.32 billion) in a colour filter plant in the southern Tainan Science Park to diversify into hi-tech industry. A $15 billion to $20 billion investment in liquid crystal display was under initial consideration, Jack Lin, Chi Mei's assistant vice-president, said.
