Tang grabs the limelight in beating top sprinter

It wasn't fast and it wasn't particularly pretty, but by winning the men's 100-metre sprint on the second day of the Watson's Athletic King Championship Tang Yik-chun announced a changing of the guard in Hong Kong sprinting.

Record-breaking sprint hurdler Tang Hon-sing retained his Hong Kong's Athletic King crown as the track and field season drew to a close yesterday with the second and final day of the Athletic King (and Queen) competition at Wan Chai stadium.

HIGH LIFE: Chan Ming-sang soars over the bar on his way to victory in the high jump during the Watson's Athletic King Championships at Wan Chai Sports Ground.

Chan claimed the gold medal on a countback after both he and Chang Yu-ho cleared 1.90m. The winner later attempted to clear 2.0m but was unable to find the necessary lift.
