There were sighs of relief within the Chinese Football Association as the draw for the finals of the 2011 Asian Cup was completed in Doha.

Seeded among the third tier of teams after a disappointing performance in the 2007 event, China faced the prospect of meeting some of the powerhouses of the Asian game.
