Relic thought to contain Buddha hair discovered

Archaeologists have discovered eight relics including an iron box believed to contain a hair from Buddha in the first excavation of the famous Lei Feng Pagoda near Hangzhou's West Lake.

Long-lost ancient statue recovered

A MYSTERY Hong Kong banker has donated a long-lost gilded bronze statue stolen from southwestern Yunnan province to the Shanghai museum. The 48cm statue of Buddha, which is 900 years old and was previously housed in the Qianxun Pagoda in the city of Dali, was stolen when the pagoda was destroyed in an earthquake in 1925.
