Filmmaker's nephew succumbs to injuries

Kuk Cho-yiu, nephew of comedy filmmaker Vincent Kuk Tak-chiu and younger brother of director-actress Jo Kuk Cho-lam, died on Saturday at Queen Elizabeth Hospital of injuries he received when he jumped from a building at La Salle College, Kowloon Tong, on Thursday. Jo Kuk, accompanied by Vincent Kuk, said yesterday the 20-year-old had died peacefully with dignity and was 'in heaven now'.

$10m trust fund theft alleged

Man Tai-lim, 55, a former trust fund treasurer, embezzled $10 million from the fund in order to invest in the stockmarket, the District Court heard. Man denied 21 counts of theft. He was treasurer of the Man Tam Kang Cho, Cho Tong, a customary Chinese trust, in 1999. The trial continues.

A Government Flying Service aircraft spotted Cho Hyun-je, 35, about 270 nautical miles southeast of Hong Kong at 4.40 pm.
