Pipe maker confident it can turn around rebar firm

Chu Kong Petroleum & Natural Gas Steel Pipe, based in Panyu, Guangzhou, agreed last month to buy Nanjing Rongyu Group, a maker of rebar used in buildings, bridges, and roads, for 80.4 million yuan (HK$101.7 million).

Steel pipe maker Chu Kong up 9.6pc, buoyed by growth in gas projects

Chu Kong Petroleum & Natural Gas Steel Pipe, one of the mainland's biggest makers of steel pipes, saw its share price jump 9.6 per cent yesterday on a 50 per cent rise in first-half net profit and its chairman's upbeat outlook for industry demand.

Chu Kong aims to build factory line for steel plates

Chu Kong Petroleum and Natural Gas Steel Pipe, one of the mainland's largest steel pipe producers for the sector, plans to spend more than 400 million yuan (HK$491.74 million) to build a steel plate production line by the end of next year.

Chu Kong on quest for acquisitions

Chu Kong Petroleum and Natural Gas Steel Pipe is seeking to acquire steel pipe makers serving the infrastructure and water industry.

The Panyu, Guangdong-based firm, which makes pipes mainly for the oil and gas sector, has been trying to extend its product range in recent years and has begun to offer products used in power grid towers and copper ore transport pipes.
