The form behind Hong Kong's top sprinters got a boost ahead of Dubai next weekend with the victory by Japan's star sprinting mare Curren Chan in yesterday's Takamatsunomiya Kinen in Nagoya.

Happy Reunion cheers up Prebble and Yiu

TOP local jockey Stanley K. M. Chin scored one of his most important victories yesterday when taking the second Asia Jockeys' race at the Chukyo racecourse in Japan.

Chin rode a faultless race on Lettre d'Amour to win the 1,800-metre turf event and was given a rousing reception by the fans.

Japan opens riding ranks to foreigners

NEW Zealand jockey Lisa Cropp will become the first foreigner to obtain a licence to ride in Japan for an extended period, a sports newspaper said yesterday.
