Staff lose 'golden rice bowl'

ABOUT 1,000 senior City University staff are to lose a guaranteed annual pay rise under a proposal for yearly performance appraisals.

Recommendations include giving a double increment to staff with good appraisals and withholding rises from those with bad ones.

THE City University is to investigate allegations that at least 20 students have committed plagiarism when writing course work papers. Officials said there had been cases in which students had taken other people's work for use in their assignments without acknowledgement.
