Since 1970, Hong Kong has ranked as the world's freest economy. In the latest Economic Freedom of the World annual report, Hong Kong remains at the top.

Global survey shows Hong Kong still the best place to feel free

Hong Kong is still the most economically free jurisdiction in the world, according to a Vancouver-based institute.

In its latest annual economic-freedom report, the Fraser Institute ranked 123 markets on their level of economic freedom, with Hong Kong taking top spot - as it did last year - followed by Singapore, New Zealand, Britain and the United States.

HK shares title as 'world's freest economy'

Hong Kong remains the world's freest economy, but its supremacy is threatened by countries whose liberalisation policies have helped them catch up, a report says.

The SAR tied with Singapore for No 1 with an overall score of 9.4 out of 10, but concerns about the legal structure and property rights before and after the July 1997 handover caused a drop in its overall rating.
