The Composers and Authors Society of Hong Kong (CASH) is inviting Hong Kong residents to apply for a one-year CASH Music Scholarship for Overseas Students 2005/06 in the field of music composition.

Chance for budding lyric writers to show their talent

Lyric writers are encouraged to show their creativity using two new melodies written by singer-songwriters Paul Wong Koon-chung and Gigi Leung Wing-kei.

Organised by Composers and Authors Society of Hong Kong (CASH), the CASH Lyric Writing Competition has an open group division and a student group for secondary and university students.

Chance to study music abroad

Are you aged 30 or younger? Are you thinking seriously about composing your own music? Yes? Then apply for the 2004 CASH Music Scholarship for overseas studies, financed by The Composers and Authors Society of Hong Kong (CASH) Music Fund.

The sponsored student will receive up to $165,000 towards tuition fees, living expenses and air tickets for a maximum duration of one year.

The Composers and Authors Society of Hong Kong (CASH) is now inviting applications for the 2003 CASH Music Scholarship for overseas studies in music composition (serious or pop music). The scholarship is financed by the CASH Music Fund and administered by CASH.

Music to the ears as schools win fee cuts

School choirs will be able to sing well-known tunes without having to pay large fees to composers under a new deal to be signed today.

The Hong Kong Subsidised Secondary Schools Council, which represents 300 schools, has won concessions on royalty fees.

THE Composers and Authors Society of Hong Kong (CASH) must have expected its $30,000 royalty demand for Leon Lai's United Nations Children's Fund benefit concert would be controversial. A group with the insensitivity to charge charities for its services is an easy target for public outrage.
