This city's biggest dance companies and a host of top performing artists are coming together today to kick off the Hong Kong Dance Festival 2010. Organised by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council (ADC), the six-week event will showcase an array of stage and street performances, international conferences, competitions and workshops.

A question of balance

Hong Kong's New Vision Arts Festival has always been about risk-taking. Held once every two years, it showcases new Asian-inflected, boundary-probing works. But there is no guarantee such programmes will sell, whatever their artistic merits.
