Retailer's profits rise

Growth Enterprise Market-listed Convenience Retail Asia, operator of the Circle K chain, said profit rose 3 per cent year on year to HK$20.76 million for the three months to September. Turnover was up 5 per cent to HK$336.76 million.

CRA profit surges despite slowdown

The net profit of Convenience Retail Asia (CRA), operator of Circle K stores, surged more than a third to HK$65.46 million for the year to December 31, despite unfavourable economic conditions.

Turnover of the Growth Enterprise Market-listed company rose 14 per cent year on year to HK$1.31 billion, while basic earnings per share climbed 3 per cent to 10.1 HK cents.

Sales boost retailer

The operator of Circle K convenience stores in Hong Kong and China, Convenience Retail Asia (CRA), has posted a 49 per cent year-on-year growth in net profit to HK$49.5 million for the first nine months of this year on increased sales. CRA, listed on the Growth Enterprise Market, saw its basic earnings per share rise 13 per cent to 7.7 HK cents for the first three quarters.

CRA gets earnings downgrade

Dao Heng Securities has revised down by 16.5 per cent its full-year earnings forecast for Convenience Retail Asia (CRA) because of weak retail sentiment.

The brokerage house predicted CRA, operator of Circle K in Hong Kong, would post a net profit of HK$69.8 million for the year to December 31.

Circle K profit improves

Net profit jumped 33 per cent at Growth Enterprise Market-listed Convenience Retail Asia in the three months to June 30. The operator of Circle K convenience stores in Hong Kong and on the mainland had a second-quarter profit of HK$18.1 million, from a HK$326.5 million turnover.
