When I was visiting my cousin in Tokyo, Japan, earlier this year, she asked me if I wanted a grape. A grape? Just one?

Sha Tin village aims to keep its guests happy, around the clock

Steamed fresh shrimp dumplings, egg noodles in soup with wonton and steamed barbecued pork buns are on the menu at the Hong Kong Olympic Village in Sha Tin.

The village, transformed from the Royal Park Hotel in Sha Tin, will provide free catering services around the clock to Olympic riders and officials.

38 Wyndham opened on Monday, replacing Wyndham Thai Restaurant and Bar, which moved into bigger premises down the street in The Centrium building. Owner Ivan Fernie of the Uncle Group, which has three other restaurants on Wyndham Street (Wyndham Thai Restaurant and Bar, the Noodle Box and Uncle Willie's Deli), describes 38 Wyndham as 'casual fine dining with reasonable prices'.

Richly flavoured Shanghai surprise

Liu Yuan Restaurant is tucked away in the CRE Building on Hennessy Road in Wan Chai. There's no sign outside indicating the existence of the place, and the small sign inside is in Chinese only. This restaurant came highly recommended by a Shanghainese friend, who said it was possibly the best in Hong Kong. We should have invited her along to help order.
