A bomb blast in central Damascus killed at least 13 people on Tuesday, state media said, as US President Barack Obama voiced concern over the Syrian regime’s alleged use of chemical weapons in talks with his Russian counterpart.

Simultaneous bombings in the mostly Druze and Christian town of Jaramana, near Damascus, yesterday killed more than 50 people and left a trail of destruction.

The explosives-packed cars blew up at daybreak in a pro-regime neighbourhood of the mainly Christian and Druze town of Jaramana, state media and a rights watchdog reported.
