'Deer tendon' failed to stand up to scrutiny

The Consumer Council yesterday named and shamed 28 shops which cheated customers by selling 'deer tendon' - a popular Chinese medicine ingredient - which actually came from cattle.

I love you my deer - zoo plans nuptials with a twist

A three-year, inter-species love story at a zoo in Kunming, the capital of Yunnan province, will culminate in a Valentine's Day wedding ceremony tomorrow.

Changmao, a love-struck ram, has been mating with a chital deer named Chunzi since late 2010. They have become inseparable and Yunnan Zoo decided to hold a wedding so they can spend the rest of their days together.

Drivers wary of moose

The largest deer species in the world is so common all over Sweden that 100,000 are legally hunted every year. Some areas have guided tours to view the beast, the most notable being Halle-Hunneberg. But most Swedes would rather avoid the moose, especially when they are driving.
