Former Kitchee coach Dejan Antonic will be leading Arema of Indonesia in an attempt to beat his former club when the two sides meet in the one-legged AFC Cup round of 16 match at Tseung Kwan O Sports Ground tonight.

Huang goal enough to put Kitchee in Cup final

Treble-chasing Kitchee took a step closer to another trophy after defeating Biu Chun Rangers 1-0 to reach the FA Cup final yesterday.

Midfielder Huang Yang scored the only goal of the match in the sixth minute at Mong Kok Stadium to set up a final showdown with TSW Pegasus in two weeks' time.

Young Aussie Evans to bolster Kitchee defence

Young Australian defender Dean Evans has joined Kitchee as the champions prepare for the defence of their league title and their first AFC Cup campaign.

Evans, 21, has made one appearance in his three-year tenure with Western Australia side Perth Glory, but the centre-half was the captain of their youth squad, playing in the eight-team National Youth League.

League champions Kitchee capped a 'perfect season' last night when they stunned Scottish giants Celtic 1-0 to win the HKFC Citibank International Soccer Sevens at Hong Kong Football Club.

Having sealed their first league title since 1964 a little over a week ago, Kitchee became the first local team to win the prestigious event since Instant Dict in 2000.

New Year tournament to encourage sides to attack

Organisers hope a novel playing format will boost attendance at the Fortis Chinese New Year Cup at Hong Kong Stadium on February 17.

Three teams - reigning Asian club champions Pohang Steelers, of South Korea, and local sides Pegasus and Kitchee - will feature in a round- robin competition of three matches, each lasting 45 minutes.

Pegasus coach feels no pressure

Pegasus coach Ricardo Rambo insists he feels no pressure despite failing to win a game after three matches at the helm. Pegasus were held to a goalless draw by Kitchee in the BMA First Division at Yuen Long Stadium yesterday. 'We have played three hard matches since I took charge,' said the Brazilian coach, who returned to Pegasus last month, replacing Dejan Antonic.

Pegasus continue fine form against Caroliners

Tin Shui Wai Pegasus continued their fine run against champions South China as they fought out a 2-2 draw in a BMA First Division top-of-the-table clash at Yuen Long Stadium yesterday.

Despite a midweek change of coaching staff, Pegasus showed great determination by coming back from a two-goal deficit in the first half.

Loss of job angers former Pegasus coach

Dejan Antonic has claimed Tin Shui Wai Pegasus ended his contract as coach without giving him a reason. 'I was shocked,' the Serbian said. 'The team have been doing well in the league and cup competitions. I'm in the dark.' Pegasus are third in the league, one point behind leaders Sun Hei and Kitchee, and will play Kitchee in next week's Senior Shield semi-finals.
