Delia deliver the goods

In the third round of the 12th Nesta-SCMP Debating Competition, SKH Tang Shiu Kin Secondary School went up against Delia School of Canada, Taikoo Shing, to debate the motion 'public, performing-animal shows are beneficial'.

The debate took place last Tuesday at SKH Tang Shiu Kin Secondary School. Delia were against the motion while Tang Shiu Kin were in favour of it.

Student bands rock for humanity

Students rocked the joint for a good cause this week when 10 bands took to the stage at Delia School of Canada to raise money for flood victims in Guangdong province.

The Rock for Humanity concert was the culmination of six months of fund-raising to pay for eight students to travel to Meizhou county next month to help rebuild homes.

Maths competition gets students thinking outside the box

More than 300 Hong Kong secondary school students took part in an international maths competition organised in Canada this week.

The 305 students were among more than 27,000 competing in four maths contests organised by University of Waterloo's Centre for Education in Mathematics and Computing.

Teachers predict an exodus from Delia

Teachers at the trouble-hit Delia School of Canada are predicting a mass exodus of staff next year if it switches more teachers to one-year contracts.

The school introduced two-year contracts in September 2004, but switched back to one-year contracts for those who started last year, teachers say.

Bureau probes operation of Delia school

The Education and Manpower Bureau has begun an investigation into the Delia School of Canada following a catalogue of complaints lodged by parents and two recently sacked executives.

Brothers Vaughan and John Blaney were fired by the school last month and their sister, Barbara, had her position as head of guidance counselling terminated on June 30.
