Esprit prepares investors for second-half loss

Embattled global casual wear retailer Esprit warned investors it might record a loss for the six months to December 31, owing mainly to worse-than-expected results since October.

Sharp drop in Silver Base's revenue raises corporate governance issue

An analyst has questioned corporate governance at Silver Base after the company reported an unexpected sharp drop in interim revenue.

The liquor distributor admitted that some managers had left the company and some mainland stores had closed.

Li & Fung still bullish in a bearish world

Li & Fung used to only source products now it also delivers the goods.

Despite trading amid a global slowdown, Li & Fung expects profits and revenue to improve next year. Chief executive officer Bruce Rockowitz said the company's revenue from distribution should rise from US$6 billion this year to US$8 billion or US$9 billion next year.
