Doctor found guilty by Medical Council over sexual remarks

Dr Tsoi Wing-sang was found guilty by the Medical Council of professional misconduct after a 41-year-old former school teacher, known as Ms A, accused him of sexually harassing her.

Doctor is guilty of sex with patient

A doctor has been found guilty of three charges of professional misconduct for selling insurance to and having sex with a woman patient, the Medical Council announced last night.

The professional ruling body has yet to decide the penalty for Dr Barry Tsang Ka-hung, 42, who could be permanently deregistered as a doctor.

For Dr Yeung Koon-sing, battling his Sars infection in 2003 was like taking a "roller-coaster ride". Not only did he have to go through the physical ordeal of having the virus, but his father died at the same time, in the same hospital, from heart disease.

Warning for doctor who removed salivary gland instead of tumour

A surgeon with 33 years of clinical experience who mistakenly removed a patient's salivary gland instead of a tumour escaped with a reprimand yesterday.

The patient - who now has problems producing saliva and was severely distressed after the blunder more than four years ago - was not happy with the Medical Council's decision.

Doctor jailed 16 weeks for molesting three nurses

A doctor was yesterday sentenced to 16 weeks in jail after he was found guilty of molesting three nurses at a public hospital.

Magistrate Ko Wai-hung sentenced neurosurgeon Dr Allan So Cheuk-wai, 36, in Kowloon City Court, for his conviction on three counts of indecent assault and two counts of committing an act outraging public decency.

A private doctor was found guilty of professional misconduct and permanently deregistered after he secretly took pictures of six women patients and improperly touched the breasts and private parts of five of them.

It is the harshest penalty yet handed down by the Medical Council, the profession's ruling body.

Doctor sentenced to community service for molestation

A young public hospital doctor who admitted he had molested patients while he was on night duty was sentenced to 180 hours of community service in Kwun Tong Magistrates’ Court on Friday.

Tang Man-chun, 26, had earlier pleaded guilty to three counts of indecent assault.

Louis Shih ousted from Medical Council

Dermatologist Dr Louis Shih Tai-cho lost his seat on the Medical Council after being a member for 13 years.

Shih gained 1,010 votes in an election, but lost out to newcomer Dr Patrick Li Chung-ki, a public hospital doctor, who got 1,284 votes. The other two contenders, Dr Tse Hung-hing and Dr Cheung Chi-man, won re-election with 1,606 and 1,166 votes respectively.
