Down's syndrome test hailed

A non-invasive prenatal test for Down's syndrome developed by a Chinese University team has been listed as one of the top 10 medical stories or breakthroughs of last year by three international news organisations - Time magazine's website, ABC News.com, and Foxnews.com. The university said it showed biotechnologies developed in Hong Kong could make a global impact.

When Silvana Brown found her daughter Cara had Down's syndrome, she considered moving back to England for lack of advanced treatment in Hong Kong.

But in the Watchdog Early Learning and Development Centre, she found a saviour.
