In 1999, 2000 and 2001, DreamWorks won three consecutive Academy Awards for Best Picture for American Beauty, Gladiator and A Beautiful Mind, and its animated movies have also been major successes, including Antz (1998), The Prince of Egypt (1998), Chicken Run (2000), Shrek (2001), and Shrek 2 (2004). DreamWorks Animation was spun off in 2004.
