A fine-feathered trend

At the start of Paris Fashion Week, Belgian designer Dries Van Noten sent an unexpected line-up down the runway for his autumn-winter 2013/14 show. And it may be one of the most interesting shows of the week.

True to his roots

'I don't want to make fashion because fashion for me can be good one moment but not the next,' says Dries Van Noten, in his Parisian showroom, a former art gallery in the heart of the historic Le Marais district. 'I just want to make beautiful clothes that people like to wear but can do so in a fashionable way.'

Chicness and light

A striking collaboration of photography and fashion can be seen at a new exhibition that arrived in Hong Kong this week. The show, at the Fringe Club in Central, displays the striking Lightscapes series of prints and lightbox images by British photographer James Reeve.

Leopard print

Leopard print often gets a bad rap when it comes to menswear. Many consider it too gaudy and risqu? and others associate it with dirty old men who prey on young model types. But in the past couple of seasons, more men have warmed to the idea.

Amazing collection is one for the books

Ning Lau could put many self-proclaimed fashion collectors to shame with the sheer wealth and breadth of her collection. Her three-bedroom flat is filled with an amazing array of Hermes loot, Dries Van Noten garments, Givenchy shoes, vintage Chinese jewellery, hats in all shapes, styles and colours, and antique dolls. No table surface, cabinet or drawer is left empty in her home.

Eye on style

September is like the second coming for fashionistas- it's the beginning of a new season which means plenty of new clothes to buy and glossy September issues to peruse.

Shore looks for your beach break

While women reach for vibrant maxi dresses, flowy caftans or bejewelled tunics on a beach holiday, men tend to look like they're lounging at home with a bucket of KFC, in shorts and ratty old t-shirt. What's worse is when the chunkier ones with a muffin top or man boobs wear muscle shirts and teeny tiny Speedos.
