Positive indicators for Lo as Chin guides Conqueror home

LOCAL star Stanley K. M. Chin is making determined strides to make this season the best in his short career and another winner at Happy Valley yesterday boosted the cause.

Super Conqueror (9-1) breezed up in the day's third event but it may have meant more to trainer Eddie K. C. Lo than to Chin, who is going to wind up this campaign with a bucketful of winners.

Lo's just supreme as Class One calls

TRAINER Eddie K. C. Lo has become a back number in recent seasons but the local handler has demonstrated with Green Supreme just what he can do with the right material.

He has guided Green Supreme to Class One following yesterday's remarkable success in the third event on the Sha Tin card.

Trainer all smiles after Sinba and Fortune Partner salute the judge to open his

EMBATTLED local handler Eddie K. C. Lo bounced back with a double at last night's all-weather meeting at Sha Tin to make his season look a whole lot better.

Gone are the days when Lo was up there in the standings vying with the likes of Brian Kan Ping-chee for the coveted position as the top local handler.

Ripper poised to repay faithful

STRONGLY supported I'm A Ripper failed to justify the confidence of his backers last time out, but could atone in the second leg of the Double Trio at Happy Valley tonight.

This is the penultimate meeting at the city track as it has been known for the past half century, but punters seeking DT rewards are not likely to be interested in history.

Sir Barnley to rise to occasion

THE colours, owner and jockey are the same - but the horse is a different proposition.

Just four days after riding a great race on Danewin in the Cox Plate for owner Sonny Yam Wing-yin, Tse takes out Sir Barnley for the same owner in the fifth event at Happy Valley tonight.

Chin pulls right rein with win on bolter

CLASS apprentice Stanley K. M. Chin made a winning return to the fray at Sha Tin yesterday when 45-1 bolter Outsider II lived up to his name in the day's seventh event.

Chin had been out of action due to twisted knee ligaments sustained in a trackwork fall shortly before the season opened on September 11.

Lo's Greeting on a high

MY good friend Eddie K. C. Lo can have a welcome change of luck courtesy of Star Greeting in the seventh event at Sha Tin on today's exciting Gold Cup card.

Lo's 'Star' gives a perfect pointer

IF Eddie K. C. Lo's Star Greeting doesn't run a good race in tomorrow night's fourth event at Happy Valley, it can't be blamed on his trackwork.

Intermac best of fine pack

THERE were plenty of good runs in the third event, won from pillar-to-post by trainer Peter Ng Bik-kuen's Intermac Supreme.

Second-placed Determinater was not fully wound up for his reappearance yet managed to beat 12 others. He won first time out last season, but that was over 1,235 metres, compared to yesterday's mile. Expect him to improve for the run.

Greeting a likeable arrival

TURF Champ and Magic Joy, the market leaders, dominated yesterday's opening griffin event but it was one finishing behind who attracted most attention.

These end-of-season griffin races often throw up horses to follow for the season ahead.
