Two US embassy workers shoot each other in row at Caracas strip club

Two officials from the US embassy have been shot during an altercation at a strip club in Venezuela's capital, police and US State Department officials said. The wounds they suffered early on Tuesday were not considered life-threatening, and it is believed that the pair had been fighting each other.

Japan shrine wins bid for North Korea 'embassy'

A Buddhist temple yesterday won an auction for North Korea's de facto embassy in Japan, after it was seized by authorities for unpaid debts, the religious body said. The Saifukuji temple in southwestern Kagoshima topped the bidding, making an offer of 4.52 billion yen (HK$371 million) in the forced auction, one of the temple's secretaries said.
