Hull and Charlton reach FA Cup quarters after replays

Hull City booked an FA Cup quarter-final with Premier League rivals Sunderland after seeing off second-tier Brighton 2-1 in a fifth round replay on Monday.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger continued the war of words with Jose Mourinho on Sunday, calling the Chelsea coach’s criticism of him 48 hours earlier “silly disrespectful remarks”.

On Friday, Mourinho dubbed the Frenchman “a specialist in failure” for going almost nine years without winning a trophy.

Third-tier Sheffield United scored in the last minute of extra time to dump sorry Premier League strugglers Fulham out of the FA Cup with a 1-0 victory on Tuesday.

The fourth-round replay at a rain-soaked Craven Cottage was almost completely devoid of goalmouth incident and looked destined for penalties until Shaun Miller snatched a dramatic winner in the 120th minute.

Eleven people were arrested after violent scuffles broke out towards the end of their 2-0 defeat by Wigan Athletic. Police wielding batons eventually brought the disorder under control, and the Metropolitan Police said four officers had sustained "minor injuries".
