Canada looks east with professional services expo in Hong Kong

Canada's effort to lessen its trade reliance on the United States by expanding into China has found an effective launching pad in Hong Kong, says Canadian International Trade Minister Ed Fast.

Adult Expo too sexy for HK, claims organiser

A year has gone by but the Asia Adult Expo is still no nearer to being given a slot at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The fifth Asia Adult Expo, along with the first Intimate Lingerie Asia, will be staged from August 17 to 19 at Hall D in the Venetian in Macau.

Mainland fair visitors shop up a storm

Mainlanders who come to Hong Kong for trade fairs are much keener shoppers than those from the rest of the world, according to a study by Asia World Expo.

In each business trip they made to the Lantau venue last year, they spent an average HK$10,900 on shopping, research conducted by accountancy firm KPMG on behalf of the venue found.

Only time will tell if the Expo was worth it

There has never been an event in China as big or expensive as Shanghai's World Expo. A recurring question among Chinese and foreigners alike throughout the six months it was staged has been: 'Was it worth it?' If the measure is participation of countries, number and extravagance of pavilions, attendance figures and the presence of dignitaries, the answer is a resounding 'yes'.
