Film fest tight-lipped after magazine leaks word of first-night Jackie Chan premiere

The Hong Kong International Film Festival is more than two months away, but one of its selling points appears to have been scooped. A story in the entertainment-industry journal Variety leaked that Jackie Chan's newest film, a dramatic effort called The Shinjuku Incident, will be the opening-night movie of the 33rd annual festival this year, on March 22.

Fan comes clean over no makeup

Mainland actress Fan Bing-bing said she had no problem playing down her looks in her latest movie, Lost in Beijing.

Directed by young filmmaker Li Yu, Fan plays a peasant girl pursuing a better life in the capital. Co-starring Tony Leung Ka-fai and mainland actor Tong Da-wei, Lost in Beijing premiered at the Berlin Film Festival last week.
