Last Monday's 'The Week Explained' column (titled 'Making a meal of it'), suggests that Ray Kroc took over the fast-food chain White Castle to create McDonald's. That is incorrect. White Castle and McDonald's were, and are, separate restaurant chains. The error occurred during initial editing.
