Are men and women equal in the world? The answer is no. They are treated differently in many respects.

Let's suppose a man and a woman with similar skills are vying for a promotion.

All equal

I REFER to Vivian Chiu's article headlined, 'The feminist apostles' (South China Morning Post, September 27).

Politically and socially, it is true that society today still discriminates against women. As a result, the general intentions of the Hong Kong Women's Christian Council (HKWCC) to strengthen women's self image and fight against the subordination of women are valid.

Reverend favours a simple tale of Easter

A SIMPLE, absorbing tale is the best way to convey the Easter message to youngsters, Hong Kong Anglican priest the Reverend Susan Hewitt has decided.

Ms Hewitt, 50, who stepped up to the pulpit long before Britain's controversial ordination of women priests last month, will deliver the Family Eucharist at Garden Road's St John's Cathedral this morning.

Unholy view

HOW sad to see that Britain has a number of men (some of them ministers) so hidebound and blinkered as to oppose the ordination of women priests into the Church of England.
